At Sheffield African Music Dance & Drama group we’re about unleashing creativity, celebrating culture, and igniting imaginations. Our mission is to bring the vibrant spirit of African arts to life, enriching the lives of communities across South Yorkshire and UK at large through dynamic workshops, events, festivals and performances.

We are on the lookout for 1x Music Trainer and Instructor 3x African Musicians and Dancers.

We’re on the lookout for dynamic and talented African music dancers and trainers to join us our team for atleast 2 years. If you’re passionate about African rhythms, skilled in captivating audiences, and dedicated to spreading joy through dance, then we want you on our team.

Responsibilities:
• Bring the infectious energy of African music to life through captivating performances and engaging workshops at summer festivals, school workshops, performances and events social or corporate.
• Inspire audiences of all ages with your passion for dance, rhythm, and African culture.
• Lead interactive dance sessions, sharing your expertise and encouraging participants to unleash their inner dancers.
• Collaborate with our team to create unforgettable performances that celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of African arts.
• Represent African Activities with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to our core values of creativity, inclusivity, and cultural appreciation.


Requirements:
• Exceptional skills in African Beats dance styles, with a deep understanding of the rhythms and movements that define the genre.
• Experience teaching or leading dance workshops, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Flexibility and adaptability to perform and teach in outdoor festival settings, with a high level of energy and stamina.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative spirit and a passion for sharing your love of dance with others.
• Commitment to upholding African Activities’ values of creativity, inclusivity, and cultural appreciation.

Desirable Skills:
• Experience performing at festivals or events, with a track record of captivating audiences and creating memorable experiences.
• Knowledge of other African dance styles and cultural traditions, with the ability to incorporate them into performances and workshops.
• Ability to play traditional African percussion instruments, such as djembe or talking drum, to enhance dance performances.
